What to bring for yourself: Clothing & Gear: Jacket, fleece/sweatshirt for the cooler 45F evenings Rain jacket (just in case) Hiking boots, extra socks Long pants, long sleeved shirts Shorts, t-shirts Swimming suit Suntan lotion, hat, sunglasses Bug spray Toiletries Towels for bathing, swimming Camp/Beach chair (optional but some people like to bring their own) Flashlights Small backpack or fanny pack to carry treats on the trails, water bottle for your dog on trails Bedding: Cabins, cottages and RVs do come with basic bedding. See Lodging for description of what is provided. Many guests opt to bring their own bedding: Cabins: Twin size bed linens or sleeping bag and pillow RVs: Full/Queen size bed linens or sleeping bag and pillow Light Blanket (fleece blankets are lightweight and warm) Food and Drink: If you'd like alcohol or wine in the evenings, you can bring your own liquor or it can be purchased locally in in Morris (2 miles) and Oneonta (15 miles). Bring your own groceries. Grocery shopping can be done in Morris and Oneonta. If you are preparing your meals on site, we have refrigerators and freezers for your use. Ice is available for purchase on site. For those cooking meals in the pavilion, there is a limited number of dishware available. You should come prepared with plates, cups, eating utensils and napkins. Fresh water is provided for those staying in cabins.

For your dog(s): Bring items that you would normally bring when you travel with your dog(s) such as: Dog bowls for food and water Leash Toys Dog food and treats Crate Dog bed Towels for drying off the dog

Good news for dog lovers - thanks to our winters, the woods and meadows are basically tick free! You and your dog can enjoy miles of trails in the woods without worrying about those troublesome ticks. Campers travel here from all over the northeast to experience the great outdoors with their dogs!

Weather

Summer is upstate New York is delightful. The days can be warm but often accompanied by a great breeze with temps averaging 80 degrees F. Evenings are cool and comfortable averaging 60 degrees F. If rain does occur, it is often a short shower, clearing to sunny skies.

Fall weather... temperatures are a delightful 65 during the day and great sleeping weather usually at 50 degrees. The leaves are gorgeous changing in upstate NY, a very dramatic time of year.

Emergencies

Morris, NY is in a rural area so we are a bit remote from hospitals and vets... at least a half hour drive... so please let us know if you have any medical conditions or if your dog has a medical condition which we should know about. We do have a nurse practitioner and emergency unit less than 5 minutes away so we have no worries but it's better to be prepared with information, especially with the dogs, too. The vet is quite a drive for an emergency situation.

Arrival

Check in time is noon (no earlier please)
Departure is 11:00am (no extensions - please use local accommodations)

Park off the driveway as you enter, we will assist you with unloading your gear to your lodging upon arrival. Once your car is unloaded we will move it to our separate parking location where you can have access during your stay.

Directions

From New Jersey or southern CT:
Get to route 17 going west toward Binghamton. Take exit 94, Roscoe... this is a shortcut which puts you onto route 206 which takes you to route 88.

On route 88, going toward Albany, you go to exit 13, route 23, Morris. Check your watch at the exit, you have 20 more minutes to go.

You are on route 23 all the way to us, passing small towns, farms and eventually you'll see The Country Rock Cafe on the right, you have 4 more miles to go.

You'll go down a steep hill, at the bottom is our road, PEGG Road. Turn right and go in a bit, there is sign on the left for the Farm.

From MA or VT or northern CT:
Get to route 88 and follow the directions above

From Pennsylvania:
Connect to route 81 going north which then takes you to route 17 and 88 where they merge you want to go toward Binghamton on 17 but quickly move to the right going toward route 88... stay in the right lane when coming off of 81 to do this easily.
