Tents, cabins, cottages and RVs are not outfitted with bedding. You must bring your own bedding:

  • Tents: Pillow and sleeping bag (rated for the temperatures at the time you are visitng). Fleece blankets are also very useful to have on hand.

  • Fresh water is provided for those staying in cabins and tents.

For your dog(s):

Bring items that you would normally bring
when you travel with your dog(s) such as:

  • Dog bowls for food and water
  • Leash
  • Toys
  • Dog food and treats
  • Dog bed
  • Towels for drying off the dog
  • Crate (Highly recommended for tent campers in the event you need to leave your dog alone in the tent. You are responsible for damages to the tent during your stay.)

Good news for dog lovers - thanks to our winters, the woods and meadows are basically tick free! You and your dog can enjoy miles of trails in the woods without worrying about those troublesome ticks. Campers travel here from all over the northeast to experience the great outdoors with their dogs!

Weather

Summer is upstate New York can be delightful with days averaging 80 degrees and often accompanied by breezes. Evenings are cool and comfortable averaging 60 degrees.

Please be aware that in recent summer seasons, with this summer season in particular, strong thunderstorms frequently pass through the area. If you know your dog(s) are sensitive to thunder you should come prepared with the items you usually need to calm your dogs to help them through the storms. Some suggestions would be melatonin (available in any health food store), ThunderShirts, and crates with covers.

In the Fall temperatures are a delightful 65 during the day and great sleeping weather usually at 50 degrees. The leaves are gorgeous changing in upstate NY, a very dramatic time of year.

Emergencies

Morris, NY is in a rural area so we are a bit remote from hospitals and vets... at least a half hour drive... so please let us know if you have any medical conditions or if your dog has a medical condition which we should know about. We do have a nurse practitioner and emergency unit less than 5 minutes away so we have no worries but it's better to be prepared with information, especially with the dogs, too. The vet is quite a drive for an emergency situation.

Check-in and Check-out Times

Check-ins are from 3pm - 4:30pm only. We understand that you might encounter traffic problems or get lost, so please give us a courtesy call if you are running late. We pride ourselves on providing individualized attention to our campers, therefore we prefer all campers to check in on time so that one of the founders of Glen Highland Farm may give you a tour of the facility and get you settled in by 6pm. We cannot accept arrivals after 6 pm. If you are late and do not let us know, there will not be anyone to assist you upon your arrival and you will have to use other local accommodations and check-in the following morning.

Check-out is 11am. We ask that you vacate from your accommodations by 11am so that we may prepare for our next guests. Feel free to enjoy the rest of the property and even prepare a lunch in the pavilion before your departure.

Payment of 50% is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. Once booked, a deposit in the amount equivalent to one night's stay will not be refundable in the event of any cancellation.
